Overview
This guide explains how to temporarily request admin privileges on a Mac using Jamf Connect. Admin access is typically restricted for security reasons, but Jamf Connect allows users to elevate their permissions when necessary. Follow the steps below to request admin rights for a limited time (15 minutes), with the option to renew access as needed.
Note: This feature is intended for staff and faculty using NMSU-issued MacBooks only.
Procedure
Step 1:
Make sure you're on your main screen and have access to the top menu bar.

Step 2:
Click the Jamf Connect icon in the top-right corner of your screen.

Step 3:
Select "Request Admin Privileges" from the dropdown options menu.

Step 4:
If prompted, enter a 'reason' for requesting admin access, then click Continue.
Note: Admin privileges will be active for 15 minutes. If you need more time, repeat the same steps after the timer ends.
