Overview
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to view, add, and remove group members in the Microsoft Exchange Admin Center (EAC). EAC offers a user-friendly interface to keep group memberships up to date.
Note: These instructions apply only to groups you manage as an admin or owner within the Exchange Admin Center.
Procedure
Step 1:
Visit the Exchange Admin Center and sign in using your NMSU email address and password.
Step 2:
In the Exchange Admin Center, you'll see two group categories:
Groups I belong to – These are groups you are a member of, but do not manage.
Groups I own – These are groups you manage and have permission to update.
Note: You can only add or remove members in groups listed under Groups I own.
Step 3:
After selecting a group you manage, use the following guides to view, add, or remove members:
View Members
- Click on the group name. A sidebar will open displaying the group details.
- Select the Members tab.
- This tab shows both the list owners and the group members.
- If the group has many members or multiple owners, scroll down and click View all members or View all owners to see the full list.
Add Members
You can only add members if you are listed as an owner of the group. To begin, click on Groups I own.
- Click on the group name. A sidebar will open showing the group’s general information, with tabs for General, Members, and Settings.
- Select the Members tab.
- Scroll down and click View all and manage members.
- Click + Add members.
- Use the search bar to find the user you want to add.
- Click the circle next to their name, then click the Add button at the bottom of the screen.
Note: Only email addresses ending in @nmsu.edu can be added to these groups.
Remove Member
You can only remove members if you are listed as a group owner. To begin, click on Groups I own.
- Click on the group name. A sidebar will open showing the group’s general information, with tabs for General, Members, and Settings.
- Select the Members tab.
- Scroll down and click View all and manage members.
- Find the user you want to remove, then click the circle next to their name.
- Click Delete at the top of the list to remove the selected user.
