Office 365: Install Apps

Summary

As an NMSU student, you’re eligible to download Microsoft 365 for free. Sign in using your NMSU email address and passphrase to access the applications.

Overview

As an NMSU student, you can download Microsoft 365 for free. Follow the steps below to install it on your computer. This gives you access to apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more. Be sure to sign in with your NMSU email and passphrase. If prompted to choose between a work/school or personal account, select work or school account.

Procedure
NOTE: It is recommended to install the Office applications from the App Store when using an Apple device.
 
Step 1:
Go to office.com and click Sign in at the top right
If you're already signed in, Skip to Step 3. 
 
 
Step 2: 
Sign in using your NMSU Credentials and complete the authentication process. 
 
 
Step 3:

Once signed in, you'll be taken to your Microsoft 365 home screen. At the top right, click Install and more, then select Install Microsoft 365 apps.  

 
 
 
Step 4:

On the next page, click Install Office to begin the download. When prompted, save the OfficeSetup.exe file. After the download is complete, run the file and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation.
