Overview

Learn how to install, manage, remove, and repair Chrome extensions to customize your browsing experience. This guide covers desktop and mobile devices, including Windows, Mac, Android, Chromebook, and iOS. If an extension becomes corrupted, Chrome disables it for your protection and offers a “Repair” button to fix the issue. Reinstalling the extension from the Chrome Web Store is another option if problems persist.

Repair a Corrupted Extension

  1. In Chrome, click the menu icon (three vertical dots in the upper-right corner). 
  2. Select Extensions> Manage Extensions. 
  3. Find the corrupted extension and click Repair. 
  4. Confirm by clicking Repair extension
