Use this service to request an account in our High Performance Computing environment.

Account requests require users to complete a self-paced course prior to submitting this form.

1. Eligible Research: You agree that all computational and storage activities conducted on NMSU HPC resources must be unclassified, intended for broad public publication, and free of any proprietary or national security dissemination restrictions. This environment is inclusive of all academic disciplines, including the physical sciences, engineering, mathematics, social sciences, education, humanities, and health sciences.

2. Institutional Review Board (IRB) Requirement: For any project involving human subjects, behavioral studies, or human-derived data, you certify that you have obtained an official Institutional Review Board (IRB) Approval or an Official IRB Exemption from New Mexico State University prior to uploading or processing any project data on the cluster.

3. Prohibited Data Types: By checking the boxes below, you acknowledge and agree that NONE of the following data types will be uploaded to, stored on, or processed using NMSU HPC resources:

Protected Health Information (PHI) / HIPAA-Regulated Data: Any personally identifiable health information, medical records, or datasets subject to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. Note: Fully de-identified or anonymized health datasets approved by the IRB are permitted.

Personally Identifiable Education Records (FERPA): Student records, grades, or educational data protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) that contain direct identifiers (e.g., names, student IDs).
