Account Claim Process for New Users

Overview

NMSU accounts are created through our system and emails are sent out to everyone with steps of how to claim your account. This article walks you through the process of claiming your NMSU account. 

 

Before you begin

All emails will be sent to the same email address used to apply as a student or to a position at NMSU. This email will be sent after a student has been accepted as a student or hired by HR. Check that email account for the information used to claim your account. The email will look something like this:

 

 

Procedure

Step 1:

Click the button at the bottom of the email that says  'Start myNMSU Account Claim'

 

Step 2:

On the new page that loads, select 'Claim My Account'

 

Step 3:

Select 'Next'

 

Step 4:

Enter your Aggie ID and Claim Code

 

To find your Aggie ID and Claim Code, they are in the email sent to you initially as shown below. Please note there will be an actual ID number and claim code.


 

Step 5:

Read the Terms and Conditions, then check the box saying you agree. After that, hit 'Next'.

 

Step 6:

Create a password using the requirements listed, type the same one in both password fields.

 

You will know your password is good if all the requirements are green, once you have a valid password, hit 'Next'.

 

Step 7:

You will see a confirmation message, meaning your account is good to go and you will be able to sign in to myNMSU and setup your authentication. NOTE: It may take up to 1 hour after you claim your account before you can sign in.
