Overview
To connect your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad to the NMSU's wireless Internet, you must first register it on the network. You will then adjust your settings to allow the network to automatically assign an IP address. Once set up, you can enjoy a seamless connection across campus.
Procedure
Step 1: Disable Mac Randomization
Before registering your device, ensure that MAC Randomization is disabled for Aggie-WiFi Wi-Fi networks. Follow these instructions on how to disable MAC Randomization.
Step 2: Enable Wi-Fi
- Open the Settings app on your device.
- Navigate to Wi-Fi menu and turn the Wi-Fi option to On.
Step 3: Connect to the Correct Network
- After turning Wi-Fi option on, a list of available networks will appear.
- Select Aggie-WiFi from the list.
Note: The AggieGuest network will not work for registration. Make sure to connect to Aggie-WiFi.
Step 4: Open the NetReg website
- Open a web browser.
- Enter https://netreg.nmsu.edu/ in the address bar.
Step 5: Accept the Terms of Agreement
- On the Dynamic Host Registration page, read the Terms of Agreement.
- Select "I Accept" to proceed.
Step 6: Choose Your User Type
Select "Authorized User" when prompted.
Step 7: Enter Your Credentials
- Enter your NMSU username (not NMSU email) and passphrase in the provided fields.
- Click Submit.
- If your credentials are correct, you will be directed to the "Confirm Dynamic Host Registration" page. Click Submit again.
Step 8: Restart your Device
- You should receive a confirmation page.
- Close the page and restart your device.
Step 9: Connect to Aggie-WiFi
After restarting, your device should automatically connect to Aggie-WiFi.
