Overview
As an NMSU student, you can download Microsoft 365 for free. Follow the steps below to install it on your computer. This gives you access to apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more. Be sure to sign in with your NMSU email and passphrase. If prompted to choose between a work/school or personal account, select work or school account.
Procedure
NOTE: It is recommended to install the Office applications from the App Store when using an Apple device.
Step 1
If you're already signed in, Skip to Step 3.
Step 2
Sign in using your NMSU Credentials and complete the authentication process.
Step 3
Once signed in, you will be taken to the Copilot Chat screen. Expand the panel on the left, then select Apps in the bottom-left corner and click All apps.
Step 4
On the next page, click Install apps > Microsoft 365 apps.

Step 5
On the next page, click Install Office to begin the download. When prompted, save the OfficeSetup.exe file. After the download is complete, run the file and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation.
