Computer and Server Backup

What Is It?

NMSU uses Tivoli Storage Manager to back up computers and servers. It is a client/server application that lets you back up and restore files from/to your computer over the network. Features include:

  • Automatic scheduled daily backups
  • Backup at any time on demand
  • Clients restore their own data at any time
  • Works with your desktop computer or departmental servers
  • No local tape drives are required. Simply set up the client and schedule automatic backups over the network
  • Both on-site and off-site copies of the data are kept for disaster recovery
