What Is It?
Desktop Support provides assistance for a wide range of desktop-related needs, including but not limited to:
- New computer setup, re-setup, and tune-ups
- Rebuilds/reimages
- Data backup and transfer
- Email setup and configuration
- Shared drive connections
- Email troubleshooting
- Software, hardware, and memory installation
- Virus and malware removal
- Printer setup and troubleshooting
- Password resets
- Connecting to existing printers
- Network troubleshooting
- Login, browser, calendar sharing, power options, and file/folder permission issues
- Device registration
- Setup for iPads, tablets, and other mobile devices
Who Is Eligible to Use It?
NMSU faculty and staff are eligible to request this service.
How Do I Get Started?

Request Desktop Support (index or contract required for service).
Request FSA Desktop Support.
You will be prompted to provide detailed information about your request, including any relevant context that may help with processing.
How Much Does It Cost?
All Desktop Support tickets are billed at a minimum of 1 hour at $75/hour.
A valid index is required. If an index is not provided, your department’s default index will be charged.
